With 2020 behind us (woop!), we can set our eyes on 2021 and the travels that will surely come with it. With the Covid vaccine becoming available and the world slowly reopening, we’re hopeful that airports and planes will once again be full and travel will be more rewarding than ever. Whether you’re more comfortable staying within Europe or you’re seeking an adventure across the world, we’ve curated our list of the top travel destinations for 2021.
Montana, US
Ever looked up in the sky and seen the entire Milky Way? That’s what you’ll see almost every night in Montana, USA, and it never gets old. The best part is, Big Sky Country will be stunningly beautiful, no matter what time of year you visit. Come for skiing/snowboarding in the winter or take a road trip to Glacier National Park in the summer. If you love the outdoors, Montana is for you.
Things to do:
- Spend a day (or three) in Glacier National park. The Going-to-the-Sun Road is an absolute must!
- Go skiing or snowboarding at Big Sky
- Visit the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center
South Africa
If you’re looking for the best mix of amazing scenery, beaches and wildlife, South Africa is the answer. Whether you want to keep it low-key and explore the unique city of Cape Town or do something a little more adventurous like cage-diving with great white sharks, there’s something to keep every traveller happy here.

US Virgin Islands
Need a good beach day? The US Virgin Islands are perfect for relaxing on the sand during the day and hitting the parties at night. Switch it up with some hiking, snorkelling or ziplining, and you’ve got yourself a great tropical vacation filled with all the essentials – R&R, adventure and fun.

- Lay on the white sands of Trunk Bay Beach & go snorkelling in the Underwater Snorkel Trail (St. John)
- Spot some sea turtles at the Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge (St. Croix)
- Grab some drinks and meet new friends at Redhook (St. Thomas)
Germany
Berlin, Munich or Cologne…honestly, you can’t go wrong with any city in Germany in the heart of Europe. In fact, if you can visit all the cities, that would be ideal. Floating down the Rhine and seeing all the dreamy castles is obvs a must. For a great cultural experience, make a stop in Cologne and learn lots about art and history. When you’re ready for a German beer, head down to Munich for its famous Oktoberfest.

- Witness history at the site of the Berlin Wall (and enjoy the eclectic nightlife in Berlin)
- Visit Neuschwanstein Castle (the one that inspired Disney’s iconic castle)
- Go to Berchtesgaden National Park for some of the most gorgeous views you’ll ever see
Tasmania, Australia
If you love outdoor adventures, Tasmania is for you. Enjoy the remarkable beauty of several national parks as well as some of the best hikes Australia has to offer. When you’re done, hit the renowned food scene and try one of their famous meat pies. Fun fact: Tasmania has the cleanest air and purest water in the world! - Freycinet National Park is a can’t miss stop (hike to the visitors platform for jaw-dropping views of Wineglass Bay)

French Riviera
Often overlooked in favour of Paris, the French Riviera is just as magical and offers access to the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Enjoy a fancy glass of rosé in Marseille, party in the streets of Nice during the summer, or if you’re feeling really boujee, visit St. Tropez or Monaco for breathtaking beaches and super fun nightlife.

- Go cliff-jumping in Marseille
- Attend an outdoor summer festival (they’re everywhere along the Riviera!)
- Kayak through the Gorges du Verdon, Europe’s largest canyon
Dubai, UAE
Get a taste of luxury when you visit this ultramodern city in the Middle East. Not only is it filled with amazing shopping and nightlife, but also beaches, indoor skiing and skydiving! Basically, you’ll never be bored here. Dubai is a very safe city and most people speak English too. Plus, this year, it’s home to the massive World Expo, showcasing arts, culture, performances, food and more from over 190 different countries.

- The Dubai Mall
- Head to the top of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa for amazing views.
- Experience the World Expo
Alaska, US
Another one for our outdoor lovers! Alaska may arguably be one of the most beautiful states in the US, but is often forgotten as a top travel destination. How can you forget Alaska when it offers an array of activities like walking across glaciers, gazing at the Northern Lights, skiing and incomparable wildlife viewing?!
Things to do:
- Denali National Park (obviously)
- Discover art, nightlife and incredible food in Anchorage
- Relax in Chena Hot Springs
